This started with a pile of voicemails.

My sister owns a dental practice in Louisville. Every Monday morning, her front desk staff walked into a dozen voicemails — new patients, cancellations, insurance questions — all while trying to check people in and get the office running. Calls during the day went to voicemail too, because the phone rings while you're standing in front of a patient, and the patient wins every time.

I've been building software for over 15 years. I'd been deep in AI tooling and looking for the right problem to solve. When she described her Monday mornings, it clicked.

The problem with existing solutions

I looked at what was out there. Answering services that cost a fortune and still get your business details wrong. AI receptionist tools that answer the phone but do nothing after the call ends. No follow-up tracking. No way to see who called, who you called back, and who fell through the cracks.

Every tool I found was either too complex to set up or too simple to actually help. An electrician on a job site doesn't have time to log into three different apps to figure out who he needs to call back. He needs something that just works — like picking up his phone.

I built it for the business owner who's good at their job but stretched thin. The dentist, the plumber, the attorney, the HVAC tech. People who miss calls not because they don't care, but because they're busy doing the work.

Who built this

I'm Gerald — founder of Lightspeed Labs and the engineer behind ReadyRing. I'm based in Louisville, KY. This isn't a product from a company you've never heard of backed by people you'll never talk to. If something breaks, I'm the one who fixes it.

I built ReadyRing because small businesses deserve tools that are as easy to use as the phone in your pocket — and because nobody should lose a customer to a voicemail.
